GeoBlood matches people who need blood with verified donors of a compatible group nearby, using GPS rather than mass forwarding. It is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit (EIN 99-3116321), free for donors and recipients, with no ads and no paid listings.
The app works anywhere. These country and city pages exist where the donor base is already large enough that a local list is genuinely useful — we add them as coverage grows rather than publishing empty pages for places we cannot yet serve.

How it works, wherever you are
- Confirm the requirement first. Blood group, component (whole blood, packed cells, platelets or plasma), number of units, and by when. A wrong component wastes hours.
- Ask the hospital blood bank what it already holds. A large share of requests never need an outside search.
- Widen to compatible groups, not just the exact one. See the blood group table.
- Reach matched donors nearby. Only compatible, currently-eligible donors within range are alerted, so requests are not ignored as noise.
- Confirm the cross-match at the blood bank. Paper compatibility never replaces a laboratory cross-match.

Do I have to share my phone number to use it?
No. Donors and families coordinate through in-app messaging, so neither side has to publish a personal phone number. Sharing contact details inside a conversation is always the user's own choice.
